Bullying & Racism
At Carshalton Boys we aim to create a strong, positive and friendly environment. We are fully committed to equal opportunities and believe that every member of our school community has the right to a safe and happy environment. We treat bullying (including homophobic bullying) and racism very seriously. Incidents of bullying/racism are few and far between. Nevertheless our viewpoint is that we do not tolerate either. An Anti-Bullying/Racism Policy is in place and is applied throughout the school. A copy of the policy is available on request. In the hope to reduce cyber bullying we believe in safe practices around internet use. A link to “know it all” IT safety produced by Childnet can be found here: http://www.childnet.com/resources/know-it-all-for-parents
A student School Council meets regularly under the direction of the Assistant Principal and Head Boy. This enables students to air their views on relevant issues; many decisions have been arrived at, after consultation with the School Council.
We have a number of initiatives at the school to deal with bullying and to promote anti-bullying strategies. We advise that you speak to a member of staff at the school if you encounter any form of bullying or racism. We have also included some links below that you may find useful.
