Year 9 pupils are divided into 3 equivalent bands; a and b, for English, Mathematics, Science and PE. Pupils are set in these subjects within these bands except in PE. Pupils are also taught in option blocks of A, B, C or D dependent on their choices made. These subjects are not set according to ability. A national curriculum subject enrichment provision is also taught (including all national curriculum subjects). All pupils receive a dedicated PSHE lesson once per fortnight.

Year 10 pupils are set in English, Mathematics and Science according to ability. Year 10 are also taught in option blocks of A, B, C or D dependent on their choices made. These subjects are not set according to ability. All pupils receive a dedicated PSHE lesson once per fortnight.
